Achieving a healthy mouth involves many different aspects of dental care. Our doctor and staff are familiar with them all! We will help you keep your mouth healthy through the great variety of services we offer, from routine cleanings to needed treatments such as fillings, crowns, root canals, and even implants. Prairie Vista Dental provides most services right here in our Ulysses dentist office.
Preventive care is one of the most important keys to maintaining a healthy mouth. Combine your great daily habits of brushing and flossing with regular cleanings, X-rays, and checkups, and your mouth will be happy for many years to come.
Our doctor and hygienist will recommend a cleaning and exam frequency based on the conditions of your mouth, typically every four to six months.
Sealants protect molars and premolars from acids and sugars. Sealants are typically placed on children’s molars.
Fluoride restores strength to teeth and protects against decay. We offer fluoride treatments for patients of all ages.
Sometimes your teeth require more TLC than a regular cleaning can provide. If your teeth are cracked, chipped, decaying, or even missing, our dental team can help!
Composite, or tooth-colored, fillings not only look more natural among your healthy teeth; they also leave behind more of the healthy tooth structure and require less prep work than traditional silver fillings.
At Prairie Vista Dental, we use CEREC® one-day crown technology to create and place your crowns in only one visit to our office. Crowns are ideal for covering cracked or chipped teeth, as well as for replacing missing teeth in conjunction with dental implants.
Bridges connect to crowns to replace one or more missing teeth. Crowns are placed on either side of the gap, and a bridge with a natural-looking tooth fills in the gap and restores your smile to its full function.
Dentures are a great way to replace multiple missing teeth. Our team works hard to make sure that your denture not only looks great, but fits well, too, so that you have a smile you’re confident to show off again.
Do you have missing teeth or a lower denture that doesn’t fit quite right? Implants can help replace one or more missing teeth, and can provide stability to dentures. Dental implants are small, biocompatible screws that are placed in the jawbone to serve as anchors for restorations, including crowns, bridges, and dentures.
Root canal treatment, or endodontics, is an effective option to ensure resolution of infection and decay when a cavity becomes too large to treat with a filling. We use the most up-to-date techniques and equipment to preserve the tooth for as long as possible. When a root canal is necessary, we make sure the patient is as comfortable as possible.
If you want to brighten, whiten, or generally improve the look of your smile, our cosmetic services can help.
Veneers are used to cover chips or cracks, close gaps, or whiten teeth that are severely discolored. Veneers are thin sheets of porcelain that are bonded to the front side of teeth to dramatically change the look of your smile.
At our Ulysses dentist office, we offer the KöR® whitening system and Opalescence® in-office and take-home whitening kits for a custom experience.
For those who are needing a brighter smile before the weekend, we offer Opalescence in-office whitening. With just a single visit to our office, you can have the white smile of your dreams. Schedule your easy one-hour appointment today!
In order to combat stains caused by coffee, wine, and tobacco products, we offer Opalescence take-home whitening trays. We provide you with custom-made trays and professional whitening gel, along with a whitening schedule. These trays are easy to wear, and you only wear them at night, so you never have to worry about them interfering with your daily life. The trays seal in the bleaching gel, ensuring none of it gets onto your gum. Plus, the gel produces little to no sensitivity, too, so bleaching is pain-free for most users.
We also offer the KöR® Whitening Deep Bleaching™. This bleaching system is one of the most powerful professional whitening methods in dentistry—in fact, it has even been proven to reverse tetracycline stains! KöR® requires you to come in for two in-office treatments with a week of at-home whitening in between your visits. By following the simple maintenance program, you can maintain your brilliant new smile for a lifetime.
Periodontal disease, or gum disease, is a chronic bacterial infection that affects the gums and bone supporting the teeth. Periodontal disease begins with gingivitis and, if left untreated, could progress to the more serious periodontitis.
During your new patient exam, Dr. Holman and one of his hygienists will screen for periodontal disease. If periodontal disease is found, we can often treat the condition right in our office. If more advanced treatment is necessary, we will refer you to a well-qualified specialist.
We use Arestin®, a topical antibiotic powder, to help fight minor gum infections. The powder stays in place for up to three weeks while it fights the bacteria causing the infection.
Your dentist in Ulysses, Dr. Holman, and our entire team at Prairie Vista Dental are careful to take the time needed to make children of all ages comfortable and relaxed. We have found that when we explain the procedures and take things slowly, most children overcome their fear of the unknown and have a great dental experience.
