Meet Your Ulysses, KS Dental Team

Bret J. Holman, DDS

Dr. Holman’s love of dentistry started when he joined the military and trained as a dental lab technician. He worked as a lab tech for nearly 10 years before deciding to further his education and become a dentist. Dr. Holman strives to be on the leading edge of dental technologies and procedures available. He truly values education and takes as many continuing education hours as possible in order to offer the best dentistry available to his patients. He has completed many courses including implant placement, restoration, short-term orthodontics, cosmetic restorations, restorative dentistry, and more.

Dr. Holman likes to give back to the community and is involved in several community activities. Dr. Holman is married to Vicki, the Practice Administrator at Prairie Vista Dental. Our Ulysses Dentist Office

Prairie Vista Dental strives to provide a relaxed and pleasant experience for all of our patients. Our knowledgeable staff is trained to help you feel comfortable and in control. Our facility is designed with our patients in mind, and we are dedicated to providing you with personalized care to make your visit as enjoyable as possible. If there is anything we can do to help you throughout your dental experience, please let us know; we will work hard to accommodate your needs and address your concerns.

Technology

We use state-of-the-art technology in our Ulysses dental office to ensure that all procedures are as effective and efficient as they can be, and patients are comfortable throughout their visit.

  • Digital X-ray images are available immediately, allowing for quick diagnosis and treatment.
  • Intraoral cameras let us show you what we see inside your mouth, so we can easily walk you through treatment plans.
  • The Isolite® patient comfort system allows patients to rest their jaws during procedures. Plus, the light on the system helps our team see areas of your mouth that might otherwise not be easily visible.
  • CEREC® same-day crown technology helps us create and place durable, natural-looking crowns in just one visit.

Sedation Dentistry

If you experience anxiety when you go to the dentist, do not worry; you are not alone and we understand your concerns. Your Ulysses dentist offers a variety of sedation methods to help put you at ease while you’re in the dental chair.

  • Nitrous oxide, or laughing gas, is inhaled throughout a procedure and creates a feeling of relaxation.
  • Oral conscious sedation involves taking a carefully prescribed pill shortly before your appointment. The pill will leave you in a heightened state of relaxation while you remain conscious throughout the procedure. During your treatment, you will also be given nitrous oxide.
  • IV sedation is administered and carefully monitored by an anesthesia specialist during invasive or extensive procedures.

While the side effects of sedation are typically mild, we highly recommend that you have someone drive you to and from your appointment if you will be undergoing oral conscious or IV sedation.
